Ted's interest in photography emerged in high school where he was first
introduced to 35mm film and developing solutions. He enjoyed shooting
photos of family and friends and later the scenery he encountered during his
travels aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Peleliu, where he served in United
States Marines as a Cobra helicopter mechanic.

After his discharge from the Marines in the mid 1980's Ted began working
alongside photographers and directors behind the scenes of numerous National television
commercial productions and advertising photo shoots. Specifically working in the
automotive industry with most of the major car line advertisers; Lexus, Nissan,
Infinity, Acura, Saturn, among others, his main function centered around
the preparation of the vehicles for the productions. While on set Ted watched, listened and
learned all that he could from the best in the business, including: Steve Horn, Jeff Zwart,
Doug Taub, Bill Werts. Jeff Nadler, and dozens more over the years.
In 1992, Ted was posed with a life changing
decision; continue to work in the industry, often away from his wife and 2 year old son for weeks at a time,
or try his hand at something new - the opportunity to eventually become the Director of
six fine art
schools in Los Angeles; Mission: Renaissance. While his love for
photography was great, his love for family was greater. Making the
transition, Ted assumed his new role and soon helped to expand the
organization to what is now the largest fine art program in the world. It wasn't until the
emergence of the digital age that Ted would again take to shooting photos as a
hobby.
Over the years Ted has utilized much of his knowledge from those early days
in the industry, shooting most of the promotional photos for Mission:
Renaissance
and directing a number of educational videos, which are now sold worldwide.
While his main focus continues to be his family and his role as Executive
Director of Mission:
Renaissance, photography and directing are still a part of his life.
In recent years, Ted has won numerous awards for his work as a photographer
and has directed his first, independent short film -
"America's Phoneless".
